Well, the time is once again drawing near when the crowds will gather to see the newest creations at Christmas Utah.  I'm feeling overwhelmed, exactly the same way I always feel at this time of year.  There is so much left to get done!  Once again I just hope I can pull things off and not disappoint the people who have come to expect fun and excitement at my light show.

I've been working on several new creations for the show.  I'm almost done with an enormous "fan" that will be placed in the field next to the yard.  The "fan" and a few other things will replace the static airblown inflatable that has been in the field for the last few years.  My goal is to tie the entire display together instead of making it look like two separate displays.

Some other new things for this year will include: a new city scape background in place of the mountain backdrop in the back yard, the mountain backdrop will be moved to the peak of the roof, the archway over the driveway has been retired with a new arch planned for the top of the mountains on the roof, about 30 additional reindeer chasing through the display, and several more chasing mini trees.  I've also got plans for a daytime display, since so many people seem to drive by during the day when nothing is happening.

As of right now I'm not planning on having any live music in the 2006 display.  The pre-recorded animation will remain but the live groups will probably not be there this year.  It has just become too difficult to schedule everything and still have the music synced to the lights.  The other problem is with the traffic.  I need to keep the visitors moving along, and the live music tends to keep people there while the traffic backs up out of the neighborhood and into the major intersections.  I might have some live music for the lighting ceremony, but not the regular nightly shows.

Well, I'm stressed but excited.  This should be a fantastic year!!
